It’s been snowing like mad this season and Alyeska reports 283″ in December, a new monthly snowfall record for Girdwood’s awesome Alaskan ski resort! It stopped snowing just long enough to open the epic North Facing “Christmas Chute.” 2000 vertical feet, starting with a narrow 45 degree gulley all filled with powder! While none of this is what I’d call “extreme” riding, it’s pretty awesome stuff, and I hope you enjoy it. Rest assures, Alyeska DOES have plenty of nice easy runs, and lots of great intermediate slopes, but this is the rare-access terrain that I long for. The music is a Crystal Hutchens song called “Star Mirror” that I’ve been working on. This mix is a short edit with just her guitar and me playing bass. All the best to you in 2007! Please enjoy!
