start out with a …
start out with a simple burton board like the clash or bullet and bindings until you know what type of riding you want to do. If you wont be boarding long i suggest that you try rentals first because having your own equipment is not very beneficial when you are just beginning to learn

Go for a board …
Go for a board roughly chin height. Shorter will be easier to learn turns but slower. Longer -faster. If you are big feet like me (UK11) You need a wide waist board. I learned on a Burton Cruzer, very forgiving ride.

burton sucks. plain and simple. only thing i have from them is their bindings. and they suck. and flex like shit.
nearly all other known companies are better then burton…. but personallyy, i ride a board without a company, without a name, without any decals… and the only one like it. totally custom. totally steeze.
