what should i get next year?

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

im getting a job this summer for some new gear. looking for a brand new setup by the way i snowbaord. i like the baggy style. i am a girl. 10 pts for anyone who gives me some links and stuff please help!!
also i dont really care what color as long as you think i will be "noticed" in it since i want to get sponsered

You’re gonna definitely want wild prints (like plaid or stripes) and/or neon/electric colors if you want to be noticed and remembered. When I think of memorable outfits I think of Torah Bright’s 2010 Olympics half pipe outfit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5BNJN6pX_s) and iPod’s Winter X Games 2010 half pipe outfit (http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/m9_1y2nbXNl/Snowboard+Day+6/lIji20a07LH/Iouri+Podladtchikov). But, if you do go with neon colors, you generally have to balance out the color with an either toned down color like torah’s blue jacket or a neutral color like iPod’s black jacket or else you may end of looking tacky or not put together (Of course there are always some exceptions).

The most memorable colors are generally the prime colors (red, blue, and yellow) from my own experiences, but "Studies also show gender differences in color memories and color preferences. Statistically, women find dark blue, and then yellow the most memorable colors. Men find purple, and then dark blue most memorable. Yellow is much less memorable for men. Preferentially, women list shades of red first; men list shades of blue. [...] With mixed genders, top preferences are: 1.Red, 2.Blue, 3.Purple, 4.Green, and 5.Orange." Here are some great examples of clothes you should get! Hope you like them:

As far as snowboard/bindings/gloves/hats/helmets go, usually you can base them off of the snowboard and outfit that you get. But remember, get a very good quality snowboard and good quality bindings first before you buy anything else, because those are the main tools that you will use to win, and you can’t get sponsors by losing. Good luck!!

Snowboard or Alienware computer?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

I am either going to buy a snowboard, or an area 51 m15x alienware laptop. I am really not sure which one to go with. I will probably use the laptop all the time, and play games on it. Now the snowboard, i probably will go 3 times a month. The laptop would be around 1400 after tax and shipping, and the snowbaord would be around 500, including bingings, boots etc. To you, which is a better bargain, what would you do, and why

STAY AWAY FROM ALIENWARE LAPTOPS!!!! save your money and get the snowboard. 50% of all alienware costumers have been screwed over, within a year of buying one of they’re overpriced peices of junk. especially the area 51 laptop series. I myself went through the worst computer experience of my life because I bought an MJ7700i Area 51 laptop (which they discontinued, because due to overclocking and stuffing too much tecknology into it causing it to break and have to be sent in for repairs almost monthly[alienware is known to do that] ).

Trust me Alienware is garbage wrapped in nice packaging, nothing more. Just google alienware yourself, and you will see some of the horror stories people have gone through, within the 1rst few results.

If you want a laptop, get Dell. They’re purchase of Alienware’s namebrand (not the company as many people believe), allows them to use Alienware designs, BUT!!!! Dell has much better support, and builds a much better product for cheaper.

Snowboarding for beginners?

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

I’m moving up north for school and I’m looking to buy a snowbaord and all the other equiptment needed. I have no idea what to look for when buying everything. What are some good brand names, and should I get the stuff from just a sports store like National Sports or Sport Check, or somewhere that sells mostly skii/snowboard stuff. Any tips are appreciated, thanks.

Start With renting a board. For a week then go. Try snowboarding see how you like it. Then go from there.

If you like it. Try some brands like Burton, forum, Rome-SDS, Ride.

I suggest Burton.

Board- Lex
Bindings- Notori
Boots- Q ( yes, its just Q.)

That should be good for your information..

You look at jackets and pants yourself and find something you like.

But i would look around.

Don’t go to any big sport shop.
Buy from the brand’s site!

Im wondering if I should buy a snowboard now, or wait.?

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Im going to buy a snowbaord soon. And on all the sites everything is on sale. Now im wondering if I should buy now, or wait until the summer. Maybe with the bad economy they will be really cheap this summer?

thanks

ok first, know that this knowledge is coming from someone who has purchased snowboards and snowboard gear throughout the year from various websites and yes, a lot of places do have great sales during off season, but they also have a limited selection during these times. The reason there are great sales now during peak season is because it IS peak season…much like how presents will be cheapest during the holiday season is the same concept on why snowboard equipment is cheap now as well. With the exception of a certain stingy over-rated/over-priced company which starts with a B, and ends with -urton, I’ve seen great deals on $400+ boards going for $200 and sometimes less! But to get the best selection on a brand you want and the design you want you have to act now. Try out www.sierrasnowboard.com. All their equipment is marked 40% off and a lot for 50% off as well.
