What to look for in a brand new snow board?

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Im looking for a topline snowboard something that’s good I heard there skateboard and the fake skateboards and I know there different from eachother I need to know a good snowboard

What I mean by topline like the best one

Not sure what you mean by "like the best one"… I can find you a board for $2,500 that uses top of the line materials and is on par with Olympic standards. But somehow I think that’s not what you’re looking for. Look, it doesn’t matter what you ride, as long as you’re good. I don’t know of any "fake" snowboard companies. There some companies that are overpriced and some that don’t make quality boards. You’ll be able to tell which is which after doing a bit of research on your own. So do this, google snowboarding and snowboards, visit ask.com, www.wikipedia.org, then look at some shops – www.the-house.com, www.sierrasnowboard.com, www.evogear.com, and www.dogfunk.com. If you have questions after all of that, come back and ask.

how to streak down the hill on my snow board?

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

how would i get onn the lift? i was thinking of wearing a tearaway suit to the top then tear it off on the way down !

Get on the lift fully dressed, but with a backpack.

Once you get off the lift, head into trees and disrobe there. Stash your clothes in your pack.

Streak halfway down the mountain, before you get into the clearing at base lodge. Duck back into the woods and put your clothes back on (so you don’t get arrested).

Repeat a few times for maximum exposure, or until you DO get arrested. :D

Note: shrinkage will be a real issue, and God help you should you crash, LOL.

Would waxing a snow board ruin the iron?

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

I don’t have waxing iron but I do happen to have one. I was debating doing to Goodwill and getting one to ruin but my friend says that it will just drip right off of the iron? What do you all think?

You need an iron that you will only use for waxing. Like the others said, you’ll never be able to use it for clothes again. Basically what you do is melt the wax on the iron, let it drip down on to the board, and then basically iron it so it’s smooth all across. And then scrape it. So yeah, you’ll definitely have wax all over the iron.

Are there any household / supermarket products that could substitute for a ski and snow board "base cleaner?"?

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Just looking to see if anyone knows of a household / supermarket cleaning product that could substitute for your average $35 dollar a bottle of ski/snow board "base cleaner?"

what base cleaner actually does is dissolve the left over wax residing within the structure of the pe-tex. so any wax cleaner should work, i know surf wax cleaner works… if that helps…why are you cleaning your bases?

if you want to prep them for the winter "hot scrape the bases, (apply a warm (usually yellow) wax with an iron and scrape off right away,) then use you colder wax, and wax like normal… this will keep the bases from drying out.
