Honeymoon spots that are cold but not ski resorts?

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

I might have been asking the wrong questions, but I can’t figure this out. I’m getting married next year and my fiance and I would prefer a resort that isn’t tropical. Something cold, snowy, etc. But we don’t want a ski resort. I’m having trouble finding anything like this, and every time I search I get ski lodges and such. Any ideas?

Maybe you could find something nice here: http://www.poconoshotels.com/honeymoon_hotels.htm

Does anyone know any great ski resorts?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

We’ve been thinking about it, and we think a ski resort is a great place for our senior trip? Does anyone know of any good ski resorts that offers alot for high school students for a three day weekend.

Of course!

Winter Park in Colorado. I have gone there since I was 8 and it never fails to give me a good time! There are many different types of trails that attract all different kinds of skiers/snowboarders. From easy to advanced. There are a lot of age variances there so high schoolers fit in completely!

There are nice towns around Winter Park and there are a lot of places to shop if people like that.

Social Media Upends Ski Resort Marketing

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

NEW YORK (YouTube.com/AdAge) — Social media is playing a major role in accelerating the decision cycle of consumers who patronize ski resorts. As a result, one of the country’s largest such companies — Vail Resorts — has abandoned its long-time advertising strategies and practices. In their place, the billion-dollar-a-year corporation, which operates five major resorts and twenty hotels, has built a new in-house marketing operation that uses social media and other digital venues to constantly engage skiing enthusiasts in real time. CEO Rob Katz explains the dramatic changes.

What are the closest ski resorts to Boulder, CO?

Monday, June 14th, 2010

I already know Eldora is about 18 miles away but what other ski resorts are there that are pretty close?

Loveland would be the next closest. Then A-Basin, if you have 4 wheel drive and Loveland Pass is open.

What would be the ski resorts in North America that would be considered better then Whistler/Blackcomb?

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

Just back from Whistler/Blackcomb. Which I loved.
What are the ski resorts in North America that would be considered better?
Regarding the village area and quality and length of ski runs?
cheers

As a combined package there is nothing to outrank it. Some resorts may have a better party area or more ambiance but they are lacking in the overall skiing. The ones that might have a little better skiing slopes lack the ambiance and party town area that is at Whistler. Total experience there is none in North America that is better in all respects. There are very few runs in North America with a mile of vertical but Blackcomb has it and Whistler is just shy of that distance. The snow is good in one area, the Park and Fall is good and the powder is up or the groomers are ripping. There just are no areas better and very few even close to it.
