@cjd1957able …
@cjd1957able Cummings was the lead singer for the Guess Who until the band broke up. Apparently he wanted to do more stuff like this, and Randy Bachman wanted to do harder rock tunes like Taking Care Of Business.

First heard Stand …
First heard Stand Tall in 1978. I was 16 and had a big crush on my Dad’s friend’s daughter. Our families spent a couple weeks together and afterwards we never saw each other again though we corresponded for a couple of years. This song cut right to the heart of how I felt.

Some people just get blessed with this kind of talent . Why? Hopefully because they also have the determination to share it with the rest of us. Burton surely does.

I met Burton on …
I met Burton on five occasions, in 1976, 1981, 1992, 1993, and 2006, and the man is just as easy-going and cool with fans as he’s always been. He’s the real deal as most Canadian musicians are.

@racesity
And I was 14 and my father had died a year before. I had become very shy and introverted until this song came out. I use to listen to it all the time. I would imagine my father speaking to me to stop acting so sorry for myself and, well, stand tall. This song helped me cope emmensely and start living a normal life again.
